Hello Friends there may be hundreds or even thousands of post revisions in your wordpress site.This post revision feature was first introduced in wordpress 2.6.Whenever you edit any of your post in your wordpress site then a post revision is created.Postr

evision is simply a copy of your older posts that is created when you edit them.So now u are aware os what post revision is then lets move on.
There may be arround 2 or 3 may be many more copies of your wordpress posts and the number of posts on your site there may be thoushands of post revisions stored in your wordpress site.The number of revisions in your wordpress site will harm your website by increasing the load time of your website.Post revisions are very useful if you want to see an older copy of your wordpress posts.But many revisions will harm your site loading time and sometime it can also cause server crashing.Its already opted that longer load time will take your visitors away from ur site and will also harm your on page seo as stated in my last post.
The problem with post revisions is that wordpress do not limit the number of revisions that can be stored for a post.So lets do some quick math lets say u have 100 posts and for all of them u had 5 post revisions then u already have 500 post revisions which are too much.In a long term that will increase to thousand and may be there are more than 5 for each posts.It will increase the load time of your website and that is what no webmaster likes.
How To Delete Older Post Revisions?
For deleting older post revisions if you go and delete your post yourself then according to the number of posts u have that will be a lot of time consuming.But the best thing about wordpress is that you can find good plugins for almost all works.So your guess is right we also have a plugin for this work.You can download this plugin from here.After downloading this plugin go to Wp Admin > Plugins >Install > Upload and upload the plugin you just downloaded.After That activate the plugin.After Activating The Plugin go to Settings > Better Post Revisions.Now if you have never deleted your posts revisions before then you might see hundreds or may be thousands of post revisions.
