Yahoo Mail Classic Is Going Away and More Yahoo Products to be Closed

So after Google yahoo has also jumped out to clean their house again.This time Yahoo mail classic is to be going away and some other yahoo products are going to be closed.Yahoo will be also going to close are the older versions of yahoo messenger and yahoo mail apps for the feature phones.Last time in December 2012 yahoo closed down the yahoo messenger public chat rooms and the other features.

Jay Rossiter, EVP of Platforms said in the Ycorpblog that like they announced last month they wants to bring good experiences to their users that inspires you and entertain you everyday more and more.That would mean taking a hard look at all the services to make sure that they are still good to your daily habits.So as part of this we are going to shut down some more services today.

Yahoo Closing Mail Classic and More services

So yahoo has decided to close the following services on April 30,2013

• Upcoming


• Yahoo Deals


• Yahoo SMS alerts


• Yahoo Kids


• Yahoo mail and messenger feature phone (J2ME) apps

On june 03,2013 yahoo will close down the classic version of yahoo mail and before that it will prompt its users to switch to the newer version of yahoo mail.If the users are  on the older browsers or using the dial up connections or basic/html then new yahoo mail will be offered to them.

If the users don't like to switch to the new yahoo mail then they are allowed to download their data using IMAP,users can also transfer their emails and contacts using the thrid party services like Trueswitch and after that they can close their accounts.
